Policies for people with disabilities
“Strengthening the capacity of the civil society for work with people with disabilities in Southeast Europe” is an initiative of “Caritas Bulgaria” and partner organizations aimed at strengthening the civil society and the capacity of civil organizations for creating partner networks, advocacy and lobbying in the field of working with people with disabilities and people with mental disorders. The initiative has started in 2016 and will continue up to 2020.
Representatives of 16 nongovernmental organizations from 7 countries take part in the Initiative. Among them are also 7 organizations of “Caritas” – from Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Albania and Italy.
The activities are basically aimed at 5 countries from the Western Balkans, and Bulgaria and Italy as EU member states share their experience, deliver training and show good practices in the services for people with disabilities and people with mental disorders.
The Initiative is financed according to the program Europa Aid of the EC.
