A Workshop of Caritas

On November 25^th, 2018 the social enterprise “Workshop of Caritas” at Caritas Vitania started its work. The social enterprise was blessed at an official ceremony by Father Rumen Stanev – parish priest in the St. Michael the Archangel Parish – the town of Rakovski. Among the guests were Mr. Pavel Gudzherov – Mayor of the Rakovski Municipality, Mr. Mladen Shishkov – Deputy of the 44^th National Assembly, Mr. Georgi Lesov – Chairman of the General Assembly of the Rakovski Municipality, Mr. Yovko Romanov – Deputy Mayor on Social Activities.

In the newly created social enterprise of “Caritas” soaps will be manufactured by the method “melt and pour” as well as hand-made candles by melting wax and casting in molds.

“With “Workshop of Caritas” we strive to respond to the needs of the local community by promoting participation in work activities and supporting the social and professional inclusion of people from vulnerable groups into the labor market.” – said Ms. Maria Chepisheva, Executive Director of Caritas Vitania. – By the work activities, training and psychological and social support we want to help them to escape the isolation in which they are and to restore their confidence, dignity, the feelings of satisfaction and significance”.
