Caritas Sofia received “Volunteer Initiative” Award 2016
Caritas Sofia received the “Volunteer Initiative” Award 2016 for the mentoring program for people who were granted protection and residing in Sofia, assisting refugees in their integration into Bulgarian society.
Award nominees included 51 volunteer initiatives from all across the country, including civil organizations, informal associations, community centers and schools. Apart from Caritas Sofia, the “Future for Children” Association – Kazanluk and the “77” Foundation were also awarded.
The awards were handed over at a special ceremony that took place on December 1 at the Central Military Club in Sofia. Special guest to the ceremony was President of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Rossen Plevneliev.
The 2016 Volunteer Initiative Competition is organized for the sixth consecutive year by the National Alliance for Volunteer Work and the Tulip Foundation.
