Caritas held a discussion on migration at Rouse University

On 25 March 2019, students, teachers and experts gathered in Kanev center to discuss the subject of “Migration, cooperation and development”. The discussion was organized by Caritas Bulgaria and Caritas Rouse in partnership with “Angel Kanchev” Rouse University.

The event was opened by the member-correspondent prof. Hristo Beloev. Stefan Markov, director of Caritas Rouse, and Svetlana Gyoreva, representative of Caritas Bulgaria, who all introduced the guest lectures: prof. Anna Krusteva (New Bulgarian University), Petar Buchkov (Bulgarian Platform for International Development) and Ilina Mutafchieva (Union for UN in Bulgaria). In the next two hours they offered an analysis on the links between global migration and the UN goals for sustainable development. Students and teachers took active part in the discussion that followed.

An art projects competition related to migration and sustainable development was announced at the end of the event. The competition is open for students (regular and distant education) as well as PhD candidates from all  Bulgarian universities.
