2018 – The Caritas Day: This poor man cried and the Lord heard him
On the Sunday after November 13th, the Day of the Blessed Martyrs: Eugene, Kamen, Pavel and Jehoshaphat, we celebrated the Caritas Day. This year it coincided with the World Day of the Poor (November 18th), announced by Pope Francis and shared its motto: “This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him”.
On this day workers of Caritas organized charity initiatives in support of people in need as well as activities of Caritas by which the organization helps those in need.
The Caritas Day is established by a decision of the Bishops’ Conference of the Catholic Church in Bulgaria and is aimed at motivating Christian communities and all people with good will, regardless of their religion and nationality, to express their compassion for the suffering and to learn more about the various activities of Caritas in support of those in need.
