MIND: Migration, Interconnectedness, Development
Twelve organisations, one common vision
MIND is a 3-year initiative of 12 Caritas organisations from 11 European countries that aims to raise public awareness of development issues and promote development education in the European Union. The participants are: Caritas Austria (lead applicant), Caritas Bavaria (Germany), Caritas Bulgaria, Caritas Czech Republic, Cordaid (Caritas Netherlands), Caritas Europa, Caritas International Belgium, Caritas Italy, Caritas Portugal, Caritas Slovakia, Caritas Slovenia, and Caritas Sweden.
MIND will contribute to positive views and the active involvement of European society on development issues and concerns as well as to raise awareness about the links between migration and development. Each year, Caritas will focus on a specific topic that covers the “migratory journey”, including root causes of forced migration, integration and steps for creating welcoming societies, and migrants’ contributions to their communities in their new countries and in the countries of origin.
MIND will contribute to the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are vital for protecting our common home and the common good. Caritas is convinced that building progressive societies based on humanity, solidarity and concern for the common good is key to reaching the SDGs and leaving a better world to future generations.
MIND has received the financial assistance of the European Union Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) Programme.
