In support of single mothers

Disadvantaged women are one of the risk groups in danger of social isolation and poverty. Having become early parents, afraid of the fact that they have nobody to rely on, abandoned by their families and men, these women fall in an extremely difficult situation. Often they are faced with the grave problem of giving birth to their child or not, of bringing him/her up alone or leaving him/her with some institution.

„Caritas“ believes that the family – the smallest social unit – is the place where the bases of welfare are laid. „Caritas“ provides help to single mothers by encouraging them to bring up their children and stimulating the strengthening of the mother-child relationship.

Families, including families with a single parent, have the right to obtain appropriate social, legal and economic protection from the society and the State so that their members may lead a decent life.
